      Cegelis just ran.  Why didn't she have a network of local citizens, unions and electeds willing to do that kind of fundraising for her?

        ... and they have been, and they're still doing so ...

        fundraisers she's run have been the $40/plate variety ... she's done the kind of well that any candidate without the aid of the big-time sponsors can pull in here in the northwest surburbs ... what she could use is the kind of attention that party connections manage ... they're all downtown types, and many have been focused on their own 2006 issues ...

        Christine will beat Tammy in the primary, and should manage some helpful name recognition in the process, but the DTrip money spent on challenging Ms. Cegelis could have gone much further if it were directed toward the winning campaign to begin with.
