  •  My annoyance comes partly.... (4.00)
....from the sheer baldfaced lying in both cases. The vaccine/autism "link" can be challenged with a few minutes of Googling. Likewise, the "ARRRGH ugly rotten windmills" charge can be overthrown with a few pictures such as posted here. Kennedy the Lesser is not only dishonest, he's arrogant.

    •  Agreed ... (4.00)
I was truly hopeful about him several years back, and don't remember what turned me off to him --- it wasn't the autism thing, I know that. I also know i found myself thinking he sure does a lot of grandstanding on issus which really matter to me and which are very clouded by lots and lots of disinformation.

He's not helping matters one bit, IOW, and is impeding progress, IMO.

Why doesn't he talk about the damage domestic cats do to bird pops, for example? Perchance ... because it would really piss a lot of people off?

Stuff like that. It's worse because you know he has access to the best possible information --- and he has the money and influence to get to that info. But he appears to be primarily interested in soundbytes. Shame.

    •  bullshit (none)
there is a very likely link between certain vacines and autism.  Science is far from proving otherwise.
Do you work for some big pharmaceutical company?
      •  You say that like it's an insult. (none)
Personally, I have high regard for those who work for big (or small, for that matter) pharmaceutical companies.

Sure, vigilance is required to make sure some of the business end/marketing types involved don't get out of control, but the overall goals (and in most cases, the practical reality) is that the pharmaceutical industry has provided products that have great benefit to human health.

Sure, aging hippies making 'pharmaceuticals' out in the garage is good too, but just not for everybody.

    •  analogy (none)
This is a rather flawed analogy. Whether or not there is a link between vaccines and autism is a matter of science. Whether or not wind farms are ugly is a matter of personal taste. I find the wind farms quite unattractive, actually, both in life and in the pictures that have been posted.
