    is about Altamont, the one windfarm which was really badly located, AND which used an inapporpriate technology (lattice framework, where the raptors would perch, and fast turning turbines).

    One, 20-year old, failed windfarm cannot be used to tar the whole industry.

    The fact that bird societies have pretty mild words about wind farms (let's avoid locating them in really bad places) shows more than anything else that they are not too worried about windfarms.

      about Altamont but I guess all I'm really saying is there may be a cost regarding bird kill even with newer technology so it is worth discussing. Just trying to be realistic is all.
