  •  Courage (4.00)
Courage is praiseworthy regardless of whether it is expected or required. If a firefighter pulled me out of a burning building, I'm going to be eternally grateful even though he's just following SOP for his job. The work of elected officials is vitally important and deserves praise when it is done properly.

Besides, I thank the driver of the shuttle bus who brings me on a 5 minute drive from the parking lot to my office every day. Appreciation for everyday service is not a sign of moral decline.

    •  Courage, the greatest of all virtues (none)
"Courage is reckoned the greatest of all virtues; because, unless a man has that virtue, he has no security for preserving any other." Boswell: Life of Johnson

Sorely lacking in most public officials these days, and, yes, in these deperate times, it is important to celebrate those who show courage.

      Thank you Congressman Conyers!
