  •  Maybe I saw the same endless reporting (none)
    of one  poll.

But the Dems absolutely have to do something to create their own brand and message.  Otherwise, we may win a round based on Bush disgust,(and look how bad things have had to get before his numbers dropped) but be back in Nov 08 to a spot where the majority of voters still don't discern a difference between Rs & Ds, but rather again vote for the candiate they want to have a beer with.

    •  I agree (none)
But I still think they need to pound on indictments, perjury, obstruction, propaganda and now, illegal spying.

But you're right that the Democrats need to get their own message out there...emphasize what we've been fighting for (against the GOP).  Better healthcare and equipment for the troops.  Fighting against cuts to Medicaid, food stamps, student loans.  Things like that...

      •  The sad truth of the matter, as I see it, (none)
is that the Dems have got the whole world in their hands, and they don't use it.

I get into endless arguments with an old, smart friend who's been Foxified.  He agrees that Rs are selling us out in every way possible.  But, he then rages that Rs are bad, but Ds are worse because they don't stand for anything.

Which pisses me off, because Dems stand for a lot of what he's benefitted from: wage and work hour protection, public education, the ability to use the courts in defense of violation of individual rights.  And he agrees, but then starts in on the war against Christmas...

I honestly don't know how bad things are going to have to get before the American public relegates the nutcases running the R party to the fringe for a generation or two.

I do hope Abramoff is in such dire straits that he coughs up the whole story of how the Republican party set up its machinery to launder every cent it has received into personal gains for De Lay and Co. and to maintain its stranglehold on power.
