He sounds more like VINCE McMahon that a person knee deep in progressive politics on principle.

I wonder what it must have been like for Joe Trippi. From that snippet relating to that tabacco tar pit, he doesn't seem to recall being connected to Mr. McMahon very fondly.

      to say, I know....

but sometimes I wish Democratic political consultants and professional campaign managers had their own baseball cards. Or something as easily referenced as a baseball card. (I'm sure the Topps people would be thrilled to hear me suggest it.)

I mean, something with their stats and Win-Loss ratios and Errors all compiled up on the back like a baseball card. (I wonder what the political equivalent of walking an opposing batter would be)

Ah well. Maybe having everything be a surprise, like finding out your campaign consultant has lost 16 races and won 0, is part of the 'fun' of running. Besides. If the gum that came with real baseball cards was bad, I can almost imagine what the gum that would come with 'Topps CONSULTANTS 2006 Deck with bonus Joe Trippi and James Carville Hologram Cards hidden in every box!' would taste like.

It wasn't that Trippi was "connected" to McMahon, it's that Joe Trippi, Steve McMahon and Mark Squier were business partners for years.  Trippi McMahon & Squire was a well-known firm that did work for governors, big city mayoral candidates, congressional candidates.  Peas in a pod.
