Why is it that economic issues never invoke this kind of outrage? Why are economic issues never "litmus" tests?

maybe because one set of issues have to do with fundamental human dignity and our rights as Americans and the other has to do with how many cars you have in your frickin' garage.

economic issues are about a lot more than middle class consumption habits. What - there's something like 40 million Americans living in poverty right now? Kind of tough to live when you don't have a job.

why there was no outrage and I told you.  We're in need of a full-on class war in this country, but no one is talking about tinkering with the Constitution to make tax cuts permanent, etc.  Gay marriage is a big ticket item.  Civil Rights is one of those issues that, rarely, transcends economic class.  Personally, I wish the Demos would start calling the Repubs out on values and quit hiding behind the economy.  People CARE about values, people DON'T UNDERSTAND the economy.

opposing the Telecomm act, which has allowed CLearChannel to rape our airwaves,  is about fundamental democratic principles, and whether you allow corporations to crush dissent and debate. it's as equal and vital as is opposing this amendment.
