    Quote from the article:

"Nearly 60 percent disapproved of the way the United States has operated in Iraq since the war began in March 2003, with most of those expressing "strong disapproval," the poll found."

    ....

"Two-thirds of those polled said they opposed the presence of US and coalition forces in Iraq, up 14 points from a similar survey taken in February 2004."

the Iraqi's clearly want freedom and freedom is respecting the dignity, cultural rights, personal autonomy of every citizen, which is enshrined in their constitution.

These rights are consistent with international law and even Kofi Annan came out last week and declared "cultural rights" as human rights for all.

The Iraqi's are rejecting our practices and for those who live in the reality based community they know that it is our practices that are inciting the resistence. This is easy stuff and the right answer should be clear; if you want to defuse the insurgency stop violating human rights, the Iraqi constitution and international law and begin to bring people together through the political process.
