I've said it before and I'll say it again.  It's not just life and limb we ask our young people to put on the line.  It's a lifetime of moral pain because they were the one that was put into this impossible situation.

This is not new, it has been happening as long as war has been happening.  I have read a good number of accounts, and interviewed several vets who have similar types of experiences.  From watching, then later shooting surrendering enemy prisoners because, they didn't have anyone to watch them, and they needed everyone in the line.

I don't doubt but that our guys have great heart, they try to help, they give candy and toys to kids, etc etc.  But when you put them into this type of situation, the response is much more primal.  It becomes survival.

This is what everyone in this country who promotes this war needs to understand.  THIS is what we ask these young men and women to do.  THIS is what they will live with for the rest of their lives, and THIS is why it is our DUTY to ask hard questions and demand solid evidence before we agree to let our government commit our young men and women to battle.  And THIS is why we need to hold bushco responsible for this fiasco now.
