  •  I guess where we differ ... (none)
is that I don't see it as a petty stylistic issue. I see it as a problematic clamouring for attention by someone whose writing generally won't/shouldn't stand on its own.

Also, I don't see it as an exclusionary issue; no one is excluded from writing a diary, and no one is forced to follow my own personal pet peeve non-recommending policy (try getting people here to follow something a moderator advocates. Ha! Double ha! And triple ha! Just look at your reaction to kos proposing rules.)

There really is so little moderation here because the community is so largely self-policing that I find it hard to believe anyone would think moderators -- especially the new ones -- would not practice fair standards. Heck, I haven't done a lick of "moderating" if by that you mean warning or anything like that. The community does that quite fine without my input, thank you.

As to your swearing ... promise to God, I didn't even notice you'd done it, I've become so innoculated to it. I understood your point and that you were upset about it.

And now, just to confuse matters, I'm going to go over to your diary and recommend it. Just cuz.

    •  I, madam, am an asshole (none)
and trying to get me to do anything I don't want to do is utterly impossible.

But this entire story is motivated by people complaining about one sense of unfairness or another, and you have to admit, you have the most coveted magical power in this ecosystem: the ability to promote something to the front page. Deleting things isn't too shabby a power either.

Your point that this site is so self-policing is precisely apt; and the superior approach to this is to make it more so if possible, not to mandate vast troves of legislation (I note both of the named authors of this weighty tome are lawyers) for us to be held negligent of and jailed.

I'm thrilled that I haven't been banned yet tonight and I thank you dearly for the recommend. =)

The dark at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming age.
