Except the part about returning to the dimension you left from.  That opens the door wide to violations of causality and the universe would then cease to be logically consistent.

Universes, unlike spouses, tend to be logically consistent.

None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free. - Goethe

    •  Fairly easy solution (none)
Nothing that leaves this reality ever returns to it.

Perhaps a reality that's almost the same, just not the same one.

Never let being humane get in the way of being human. And vice-versa.

    •  it happened to me once (none)
Back in summer of 2000 I was having a nice old time with my new girlfriend.  Suddenly the earth shook.  An earthquake.  I felt myself shift into a new dimension.

Things have been pretty ugly since.  The November 2000 fiasco, 9/11, Bush Bush Bush Bush Bush, the mass hypnosis of my fellow earthians .....

I really would like to get back to the dimension I left, but I can't find it.
