  •  I will choose the Drgrishka1 response (none)
(ala his response when challenged on his statement that Byrd supported Alito). In 2 days Alito will be running like crazy from his record then you'll see I was right.
    •  We'll see what he does. (none)
I doubt it will be anything i'd characterize as running like crazy.
      •  Depends on what you call running like crazy (none)
I call don't recall, don't recall, younger than, job application, it would be inappropriate for me to comment on that, I won't comment on how I would vote on cases that will come before me, I didn't mean that I would recuse myself from ALL Vanguard trials. That's rich white guy for running like crazy if you ask me.
        •  naturally we'll (none)
see things though our own prisms and find our own charactizations. That's why they are so often flawed.
          •  But you called them mischaracterizations (none)
not different, hence you were calling my position on his issues wrong. I am just telling you how I see them....see how that's different.
            •  I don't think i followed this thought (none)
your repsonse has me a bit confused. I don't think i called your position on his issues wrong.
              •  you said (none)
Of course his positions will be mis-charactized.

And since I have happen to believe that his statements will be properly characterized as painting him the right wing idealogue that he is, you are thereby calling me wrong on his positions. If you weren't then I am wrong and sorry, but I doubt I am wrong given your history in defending these sorts of characters.

                •  to quote myself, (none)
"If his positions are not mis-characterized"

not 'of course' (though i'd wager lots that they will be mischaracterized in many ways).

Since we have yet to see how/if his positions will be characterized/mis-characterized, i'm wasn't calling you anything.

Me not call other posters anything.

          •  would you concede that there is truth? (none)
In other words, after the Alito hearings will there be an ascertainable, TRUE version of what takes place during the next two days?

I hope that there will be.

I also hope that the Dems are unified in their opposition to this candidate.

            •  certainly there will be truth (none)
statements will be made, facts presented. But when we try to summarize or simplify or characterize, distortion is inevitable...like rendering a globe onto a map.

Different people will focus on different elements and ignore others resulting in different sets of 'cliffs notes' versions of the event.
