  •  It sucks.... (none)
I'm in-state. Always have been. Until I finish my Master's, always will be. I still have 20K in loans and didn't take any out until my senior undergrad year. My grad program has no scholarships, no research funding, and no TA opportunities. The only way I can make ends meet is my p/t job and loans. All I can say is, like many other majors, there is no help for those studying helping professions. And my future isn't too shiny either... master's level counselors start out at about $20,000/year. So... hope the government likes having their money trickle back to them slowly. And, hey, the low SES clients that I'll be working with will enjoy having me as a neighbor in the projects.
