  •  This all just feel-good new age nonsense (none)
Glenn Morton has changed his religious beliefs to fit the facts. If new facts were discovered, he would just change his beliefs again.

I don't want to be critical, because changing your beliefs is better than the alternative, but it is really a triumph of science over religion. Some of the overly nonsensical beliefs were merely discarded.

This isn't a reconciliation of science and religion, because science did not give up anything in the compromise.  It is merely a diminution of religion.

Religion is not something that shifts with the wind like this. If Jesus had been willing to change some of his beliefs, they would never have crucified him. All those Christians that they fed to the lions could have been saved if they had just changed their beliefs.

From what I can see, Glenn believes in a universe that shows no measurable evidence of the hand of God. If you cannot tell the difference between a natural universe and a created universe, then it makes no difference whether God created it or not.
The concept of faith gets so diminished in its importance that it might as well vanish completely.

All this discussion does is make everyone feel better. "Oh my God! I thought that I was going to have to reconcile my incongruous beliefs in Chrisitanity and science. Now, I don't have to.  Whew! That was a close one."
