  •  Of note: (4.00)
The prime minister, Shaukat Aziz, is scheduled to visit President Bush next week.

    As the NYT notes ironically:

On a previous visit to New York in November, Ms. Mai, also known as Mukhtaran Bibi, was hailed in a video tribute by Laura Bush at a Lincoln Center banquet as a person who "proves that one woman really can change the world."

needs to write a book about the PHONY SPEECH of the Bushes on women's rights while the actual rights of women in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other countries go down the tubes.

    •  She can change the world (4.00)
But she can't get an invite to the UN.  Maybe Dubya or Laura could give her one.  For the sake of "balance."

      •  State of the Union is just around the corner (none)
If Dumbya was willing to show any commitment to women's rights, he'd invite her to be there and condemn Pakistan and the UN for blocking her speech.
