  •  Since I've been reading this, (none)
it's become more and more usenet-like.

Usenet used to be the wild frontier of the internet; there a thick skin was a requirement.

I like it, except for the name-calling, or my favorite for verbal witticisms, the "fuck off."  (The "fuck off," I believe, descends from the usenet "fuck off and die," which I don't see too much around here.)

So yes, be ready for some wild-and-woolyness.

    •  WHich brings up the point that there are many (4.00)
and varied backgrounds among us. I for one, have grown up around "Fuck off and die!" and "Eat shit and bark at the moon!" since I have no kids and live a, shall we say, "rustic" life. Others may be shocked to hear the word "darn" in here. Always try to remind yourself that everyone isn't coming from where you are.

      •  I did one of those (none)
fast-vanishing diaries a while back on the use of "fuck," and included a poll:

        When do I use "f*ck"?

        • Never -- my tongue would cleave to the roof of my mouth     4%
        • Almost never -- only in cases of partial amputation    7%
        • Sometimes -- grabbing a hot pan handle 14%
        • Moderately often -- sailors would call me a piker  20%
        • Often but just for shock or emphasis     16%
        • Often because that's the way my kids talk     0%
        • Really often -- "like" has gotten to be so trite      3%
        • Really really often -- f*ck is like oxygen     6%
        • Never -- I always use "fuck" -- don't know how to pronounce "*"  24%
        • Other -- elaborate in comments 5%

Overall, I'd call us a "moderate-use" community, leaning toward "rare-use."  The comments suggested just what you say: we're a varied group of folk, here.

        •  SYFPH is worse than that (4.00)
it pisses ALL catagories of KOSSOVONIANs off

if you supported any candidate but Kerry, SYFPH (the original)

womens studies set ??? SYFPH (the Pie angle)

think the Ohio Vote was tampered with ??? SYFPH (the tinfoil-bannable angle)

think the SCOTUS isn't important ??? SYFPH (the Armando angle)

SYFPH also raises lingering issues from the Dean wars, and offends anyone in general by arbitrarily extinguishing EVERYBODY's free speach rights

use it at your own risk

hey, don't like it ??? then just SYFPH
