  •  I just posted a diary ... (none)
... that disappeared and the ratings functions are not visible to me. It looks like I have been shunted aside.
    •  It may (none)
have been deleted if it was a dupe, and that's almost automatice and with no warning. But diaries do sometimes dissappear, I've had it happen myself.

      •  Since my diary was not posted ... (none)
... and no ratings function or recommend function is available to me, I have to assume that my privileges have been suspended. I can see no other explanation. Oh well ...
        •  warning: haunted server at work (none)
I could not edit my diaries for the longest time.  I would simply be bounced out to the front page.

None of my emails to tech support were answered.

Finally I subscribed.  Maybe two weeks later, the edit function began working, as if there had never been a problem.  By then I had deleted many diaries, as my learning curve rendered previous observations obsolete.

Never did hear from tech support.

No telling what happened, but I believe there can be errors in creation of one's page.

I hope you get results.  I was about ready to post a diary about posting diaries.

        •  About once a week (4.00)
About once a week the server requires you to manually log-in again with the username and password you established when first registering with the site. This action on your part renews the cookie that normally will automatically log you on. After doing so, you will see that you can post diaries and comments again.

I've developed the habit of always looking at the upper-right corner each time I access dailyKos to see if I've been auto-logged on (RickWn's page) or if I'm viewing the generic front page which has no posting priveledges.

        •  You should be ok (none)
There's no flags anywhere around you in the admin side of things.

Here's something that tripped me up at first: tags are required in order for a diary to be posted. If you don't have them, it won't upload. Could that be it?

Also, there has been some server wackiness in the past few weeks. It's possible that you just have very unfortunate timing.

But it'd probably be worth clearing your browser cache, and maybe even logging out and back in again.

That's about the extent of my help capacity.

        •  Another thing I've noticed (4.00)
(Glad you can post again). Another thing I've noticed is that when one of the admins is uploading a front page article, everything goes into "hang" mode. What I see in my status bar is the info: "Waiting for". Sometimes the wait can be as long as ten minutes.

Ten minutes may not seem like a long time, but if you have been actively posting and rating and refreshing and all of a sudden you are suddenly left "hanging"... if find it is always because the front page was being either edited or posted to by one of the front pagers.

We have a new group of front pagers this season (a wonderfully talented, intelligent group) and it might be that they are a little bit slower going through the functions of updating the front page than the equally talented, but much more practiced crew, who stepped aside just a few weeks ago.

        •  logged in? (none)
sounds like maybe your cookies got lost or something.  Make sure you are actually logged in, or re-connect to the site and log in frshly.   Most browsers let you auto log in, but somethimes they forget.  Maybe you left your cookies out on the counter overnight  and they got stale.
