I lurk.  I've been lurking since election day 2004, when I stumbled on the site in the library and left feeling elated that Kerry had won.  I didn't get my own internets machine until about a year ago, and that's when I registered.  I think I've posted a grand total of 2 diaries, and a few more comments -- I just feel like what everyone else has to say is far more interesting than anything I could come up with.  My name, snootless, is something the SO called one of the kitties (sorry, I should say pooties) when I was trying to come up with a screen name.  I very much like it -- s/he who is without snoot -- as I despise snootiness almost as much as these wretched excuses for Americans who side with Bushco.  The downside to lurking without posting seems to be that I can't see the troll comments, which can be very funny.  Semi-employed legal assistant in Austin, looking for a real job.

That's snootless, DarkSyde, not snootiness!  I am the anti-snoot.  I still love Austin, but it was better before it got so popular.  I'm sure you know that.

apologies Snootless! Yes the traffic in Austin is truly horrific. I visited about a year ago, and I guess I've been in Fla too long, because between the pacing and spacing of 10 AM traffic, I was literally scared driving along on MOPAC.

I avoid the MoPac whenever I can.  It's too competitive.  Another road that scares the bejeebus out of me is 290, especially out toward Elgin, especially on the bike.  You could get smushed in a hurry.
