  •  I worked on this program in the Pentagon (4.00)
This is a very accurate essay. I had the opportunity to work the "Hard and Deeply Buried" program in the Pentagon in the mid 1990's. I also was part of the Libya team when we were concerned about their "facility" in 1996. The B61-11 was not this specific program but was a weapon to be considered to go after hardened targets. I left the Pentagon before an actual weapon was designed to meet the requirement.

Iran is going to be a tough nut to crack. We have allowed our National Security to be controlled by incompetence and I truly fear that this is now out of control.

I am running for Congress in Arizona, district 8, and my number one issue is to get out of the Middle East and become energy independent. Over the past 40 years, the instability in the Middle East has got greater at an exponential rate. We must end our relation with Mid East oil in order to increase our own national security.

    •  What about Israel? (none)
Will you abandon our longtime commitment to the nation of Israel when you get us out of the Middle East?
      •  Different Issue (none)
Last time I checked, we weren't backing Israel for their oil. It's the oil that has had the most impact in our foreign policy in the Middle East. I say we start with ending our dependency on oil, in turn we get a stronger economy, cleaner air, and a foreign policy that just might represent the people and not corrupt special interest energy corporations.

        •  That all good and fine, but ... (none)
... you said you wanted to get us out of the Middle East. So, what about Israel? We have commitments to that nation. Would you be in favor of keeping our commitments to our ally in the Middle East?
          •  Israel is an ally (none)
After looking my comment over I see your issue. To clarify my statement, we need to get off Middle Eastern Oil. I see our dependency on oil as the biggest destabilizing factor in the region. For nearly half a century, the violence has escalated and now we are discussing nuking Iran, we need to leave the region, and I mean primarily Iraq.
