I live in Tennessee, and I just sent Lamar Alexander an e-mail telling him why he must oppose the confirmation of Alito in any way he can.  Of course, I did not bother with Frist.  Actually, I wrote to him a few months ago and fired him.  On the same day I sent money to Harry Reid and hired him as my other senator.  Lamar has a brain though.  he tends to vote the right way on some issues some of the time, e.g. environment.

I, too, live in TN and Lamar has given me false hopes many times.  A couple of years ago, I went with a group of environmentalists to his office to talk about the energy bill, he had concerns over it yeah, right.  It was just a false hope trying to make him look like a moderate or even someone who cares a wee bit for the enviroment.   He doesn't.
In fact Friday I received a letter from him explaining why he voted in favor of ANWR.  "We want to keep our power on and our rates down" is the explanation he offered.  No care at all about the environment which is an about face from 2 years ago.

As for the filibuster and Alito, I heard this week he had concerns about Alito, thus, giving false hopes again.  Today, I read his letter at the Chattanoogan clearing up any hope of resistance of Alito.  Here is his letter:Sen.Lamar Alexander: Samuel Alito will serve with distinction.  Feel free to call Lamar and express your disappointment in him.  Please let him know his constituents are watching him and he better worry in 2008 because his record is dismal.
