Yeah - we are truly fucked here aren't we?

I cannot believe that this diary and these comments are making personal attacks against potential candidates....and you all think it's funny.

        Well have at it!

look at what said HERE.  Unelectability is a canard.  Mccain shouls also be unelectable- an old Senator from a small state, who confessed under torture, has a much younger second wife.  He;s just as uneelctable as H.Clinton or Feingold.

        •  Call them unelectable for lots of reasons (none)
but not because of personal attacks. There voting records suck. They hold no definitive positions. It sounds like a bunch of republicans in the diary and most of these comments.

          Flame away.

the republicans will attack any candidate in any way........so unelectibilty is a candard ie a false premise

              •  I think you're missing the point (none)
its useless to come up with a smear free candidate becasue in the end R's will just make stuff up. So we have to stop using electibility as a criteria.

you do realize he did the same thing to Mccain as well......pointing out, why dont the same electible rules apply to him

        •  He's a got a few (none)
related to two topics. One, he raises Diane Feinstein's relationship to Mayor Mascone killer, Dan White. The others are related to calling Armando a drunk.

Regardless, I thought this was pretty funny.

          •  calling Armando a drunk (none)
is probably the funniest thing I've seen yet...

That said, once again, either this is the least ironic group out there or the ambiguity of the written word strikes again...

That said, I think some people shouldn't run because I don't think they can get elected, for reasons that may not be fair, but are real. Please don't confuse the two. Lots of people here tend to discount reasons for people not looking electable because the reasons are bigoted, or not logical--but it's not like bigoted illogical people aren't allowed to vote. They are--and it's unlikely that you can turn them into unbigoted, logical people before they vote. Hence, it's something that has to be worked around.

Abortions go up under Republicans. Business is better under Democrats. Pass it on.

          •  Read the Feinstein Comments (none)
He's been here a couple of weeks...and his first week he effectively said that Feinstein was responsible for Mayor Moscone and Harvey Milk's deaths.

I was in that thread initially because Feinstein is one of my senators. And because I was working in SF one block from city hall when the assassinations ocurred - I am very aware the history. His comments during his first week were / are way over the top.

Then I saw him calling out Armando this morning. Calling Armando a drunk or asshole is nothing new - but it was out of context in the diary today.

This diary is offensive in it's personal nature of the attacks. I'll be the first to say that Feinstein is a DINO and Leiberman is a republican that can't spell the letter "D". The religious and personal ad hominems were over the top.

The diarist is a troll and everybody played into the talking points.
