  •  it's not tone. (4.00)
The comments that were quoted are the kind that I would troll rate.  I don't know if they were troll rated by other people or not since I didn't see them in original context.

There are other problems I have noticed in traditional media coverage of blogs.  One is using phrases like "websites like Kos" and then going on to use quotes which may or may not have come from here.  I've seen it before.  The other one is not using what we in blogdom consider proper usage - if you are going to quote it, link it!  I know it doesn't translate well to print - but if they are going to put it on the internet as well as in print, the internet version should have links!

Yes, we should police our site to keep make sure we have some standards.  We should also provide feedback to whoever decides to cover us to make sure they are being accurate.  (I'd love fair and balanced, but accuracy is the minimum we should ask for.

We must never lose it, or sell it, or give it away. We must never let them take it from us.

    •  Good (none)
suggestions regarding feedback to the likes of Peggy Noonan. Thanks
    •  "Tone" was a civil way of saying... (4.00)
"language", "swearing", "cussing", "venting", "bitching", "whining", "whinging" or any other of a bunch of possible words that mean much more.

Where is the WSJ group saying, "Peggy really shouldn't refer to major party leaders as 'unhinged'..."

Not going to happen.  Links, verification: not going to happen.

We come here to work, and we come here to vent.  There is no way control either.  And there is no way to control "their" response to us.

      I like the passion, dammit.

      •  GOPers have been calling Dem leaders crazy (none)
for decades. It goes back at least to 1972 when McGovern was crazy enough to say we ought to get out of Vietnam because it was a lost cause. The slanders against Dukakis in '88 were just a mildly extreme version of the virulent disease that infects the GOP. They're so used to it by now, it seems as natural as breathing to them.

Lunch-pail Dems are gone? Maybe once they outsource the last of those jobs. But the lunk-head GOPers? They're very much with us.
