  •  I had forgotten sauerkraut and kimchee for flu (4.00)
yet another item for supplies list.  Thanks for the reminder.

This would be one of the things my whole family except me would hate to eat if we got down to it.

    •  Well, I am not crazy about the (none)
stuff either.  My wife will eat if only if it is rinsed well but would that lose its "properties?"

I will have to get plenty of brats and beer to go with it.

    •  Lay in a supply of (none)
      •  I think we will end up with at least one of the (none)
packs that have elderberry, echinacea, zinc in
spray, lozenges and syrups.   Thanks for the link

I also found dried eldeberries for $15 a pound.   That's a lot of elderberries.  I'm going to check with my bulk food guy to see what's in his catalogs.

I think they would dry a lot like blueberrries and they're very light.

Elderberry flowers make lovely fritters, too.  I've never made them, but a friend does.

        •  Actually, (none)

I found mine at a health-food grocery store, dried and sold by the pound. I'm keeping them in the freezer.

I also found dried ones in vacuum packs at wine shops...they also carry the flowers.

          •  We have elder at our Farmers' Market (none)
in the summer.  had forgotten---I rarely buy them because they're very expensive. They are supposed to grow wild in some places around here.   Maybe summer project.
