    That was one of my points. I think the Republican
    Party has brainwashed many working class and middle class voters into thinking we are out to raise their taxes. So I thought a proposal to tax
    wages and non-luxury consumption less and wealth more might help us regain some white, working class voters.

    I didn't realize this diary would generate the negative comments it has from some people who are angry at Nader for costing Gore the election.
    For their information, I voted for Gore in 2000 and John Kerry in 2004. But that doesn't mean I don't look at the Green Platform and find good ideas. After all, social security was originally proposed by the Socialist Party and later adopted
    by Franklin Roosevelt.
