I think you're missing the point of why Mr D's statement is hilarious and reveals utter ignorance. Creationism posits a finite beginning for the universe; the Big Bang is a theory which has as it's premise that the universe has a finite beginning in space and time. IOW they're not exclusive. In fact one goes hand in hand with the other. Most Creationists not only accept the Big Bang, they promote it because it's consistent with their religious beliefs. THAT"s what's funny.

is limited we say we love ice cream and we also say we love a particular person.  Love means completely different things in the context of its usage.  It is hard to use the words "Big Bang" in the context of supporting any kind of Theology.  Just as some have suggested "theory" stickers for Bibles, the theory sticker for Evolution and ID causes alarm, division and controversy.

Because I do not associate the words "Big Bang" and "creationism" closely I did miss the irony you pointed out to me.

As I posted earlier, to believe that humans and houseflies have a common ancestor takes A LOT of faith.  Believing in God takes A LOT of faith as well.

I do not notice the assault on Islam intellectually that I have noticed against Christianity.  I think that this is because of a fear that causes people to self censor.

      What do you think?
