    I'm sure propaganda played some role here, but this is basically the same sort of simplistic flat, monocausal analysis that got us into the war in Iraq--except in your second to last paragraph. It's a bit like saying Bush won the presidency thanks to Rush Limbaugh, while ignoring all of Fox News; the 700 club; National Review; every other right wing talk show host; not to mention all of the conservatives that don't listen to Rush Limblahblah blah; etc.

      ...to "explain" what happened and validate Soj's claims presents is a imaginary letters written by a Saudi government official; in other words, it's satire.  

      Gotta wonder about the credulity or intellectual honesty of someone who presents as fact something that is in fact satire.

      The revolution will not be televised, but we'll analyze it to death at The Next Hurrah.
