  •  Thanks so much for taking this on (4.00)
A suggestion, given some of the comments from my diary yesterday on candidate diaries. Several people assumed that new candidate UIDs were routinely being authenticated by Kos and that's not actually the case. I suggest that you change the "Is that post really from Somebody Famous?" section to better reflect the current situation. Although many "famous" UIDs of public officials and candidates may have been reserved, there's a whole lot of candidates out there who aren't famous who may be posting new campaign diaries.  When unfamiliar new candidates start posting, site users should be aware that no one is authenticating their identity and to conduct your own research about their qualifications and political views.

    •  You raise a good point (4.00)
As far as I know, and flipping through the comments to your diary backs this up, there has yet to be any documented instance of someone misrepresenting themselves as a candidate. It's certainly true that this isn't any sort of guarantee for the future, especially as this site gains visibility and impact.

Maybe backing off the language a bit would make sense.

I'm planning on doing one last diary on the FAQ writing process, probably later today. I'll add that to the list of issues to bring up.

        and overly-pedantic.

In the Over-riding AutoFormat section, you have

        To get a '<', type '\\<'.
There's an extra backslash there, I believe.

        •  Argh (4.00)
I thought I had caught all of those. Basically, AutoFormat for Scoop and AutoFormat for the wiki engine used by dkosopedia differ somewhat. When I converted the FAQ from diary form to wiki page, obviously I missed a couple of tags and so forth.

          Thanks for the proof-reading.
