  •  getting sick of this (4.00)
If these recent revelations are indeed true, then I'm really getting disappointed with Fitz. If they're stonewalling him in such a blatant manner then he needs to use the bully pulpit and come out and goddamn say tell us. This has gone on long enough.
    •  Fitz doesn't have a "bully pulpit" (4.00)
It's not his job to make statements like that.  His job is to find out when and how the law was broken, and then prosecute, if he can.  If he can't charge anyone with anything, he has to keep quiet about it.

It's actually OUR job - the American people's -to raise holy hell about the administration's stonewalling.

If we can't manage to do that, thanks to stupidity, indifference and brainwashing, then we're a lame-ass excuse for a country and we're heading for a big fall.

You're correct about the specifics of his job. However, as to the 'bully pulpit'.. he calls a presser and they're gonna come running and we're all going to hear about it, no doubt.

But if he cannot prosecute due to stonewalling, then you would have him simply go home?

Is anyone curious about why no traditional press has picked up on Leopold's story? Do a Google or two on the keywords Leopold Salon Krugman and see why. Whenever this guy makes a whopper of an accusation, you first have to check to see if it's really big or if it's just a whopper.

I'm not saying he's wrong again, but it's pretty hard to check on his unnamed "sources close to the investigation;" we know that is no one in Fitzgerald's organization, because he absolutely does not leak. All others who have leaked have been lawyers trying to spin their defenses or fabricators seeking attention.

Nothing new on Fitz's website. Nothing to support what Leopold is saying about Gonzales in the recent article by Murray Waas discussing the exchange of letters between Fitz and Libby's lawyers that has now been made public. Nothing in the letters, which I have downloaded and reviewed. Except for Leopold's assertion that a couple of anonymous attorneys have told him Gonzales is stonewalling on the e-mails, the rest of his information is a rehash of news reported earlier and elsewhere. I would like to see some corroboration by other news sources.

Considering the secretiveness and arrogance of this administration, Leopold's claim is not unbelievable, but it would be an instance of the AG acting like the WH counsel (as he did in his Senate testimony on NSA spying) and stonewalling an investigation coming from within his own DOJ. Let's hope that is really happening, because it would indeed be sensational--Nixonesque, as a matter of fact.

          •  My observation of the last couple of months (none)
Is that the average delay time from a Leopold secret source revelation and confirmation by Murruy Wass or other MSM for example is about a week.

Leopold claims that the two primary sources for this latest round of revelations comes from within the State Departments and NSC from some of the field solders who worked directly with the WHIGs but are cooperating with Fitz in return for lessor sentences.

A totally wild thought crossed my mind without any other evidence that this might even mean Stephen Hadley, and Joe Hannah, both of whom have provided some indication that they were involved.

Some of Hadley's friends apparently said he had told them several times last year he expected to be indicted.

And I remember about a year ago reading a report of a rumor that Hannah was secretly cooperating with Fitz.

Leopold sort of implies that the two sources that have been talking to him in a series of interviews during the last week are the next level down from that, but that might just be his only way of protecting the higher up from speculation from folks like us.

Helping to bring justice back to the White House, one indictment at a time.
