In the last issue of my Alumni magazine. A slightly older alumnus sent in a letter complaigning that the magazine had published the baby announcement of an alumnus and his partner.

Here was an announcememt stating a fact. Someone had either adopted a child or had a surrogate. But this woman thought announcing a fact was some political propaganda.

I would have understood her bigoted extremism if it was a political issue such as publishing a marriage announcement. I could see a crazy person seeing the publishing of, say, a canadian marriage of an alumnus, as pushing an agenda...but i really didn't think people were crazy enough to think publishing a simple fact was pushing an agenda.

This woman in the advice letter reaffirms that as long as the party in control of this country is the one that advocates ignorance and hate, they will reaffirm the insanity of a large segment of this country.

A Canadian marriage--or ANY marriage--would also be a "simple fact."

The problem with these people is that they don't let facts, simple or otherwise, get in the way of what they choose to believe and act upon.

    •  Wow! They let WOMEN into college now? (none)
What is the world coming to?
