"standsup" (Video for Gore's MLK-Day speech).

I was attacked by them as well for daring to respond to one of the papers they printed their trash in. Now I am getting e-mails telling me I support a traitor, that I am a bitch, and that I should burn in hell. This is then about a coordinated effort to dissuade free speech in general and it needs to be nipped in the bud.
      •  Oh , and just to clarify (none)
I'm not complaining. I wear their comments as a bage of honor and have no intention of stopping what I am doing. I'm simply saying that this goes way beyond just a few people writing an article to trash Al Gore. This goes to the very core of what we stand for as Americans.
      •  I am terribly sorry to hear that (none)
if the nutjobs start crossing the line, you must first ensure safety and then take suitable actions to keep them at bay.
      •  They will attack you in ways you just don't expect (4.00)
It's not Al Gore with me.  It's trying to inform people about the egregious abuse in the domestic adoption system.  My computer has been hacked.  I've gotten odd phone calls.  I've been accused publicly of "not being human."  My talks have been attended by members of the adoption industry who refused to identify themselves as such even though I personally heard them conducting business on the phone minutes before I spoke. My husband has been verbally attacked.   Their MO is to attack, dehumanize, and threaten.  That worked on me when I was 18.  It doesn't work on the 50+ year old woman.

Shake them off.  All they really  want is to silence you.

    •  Have e-mailed several publications (none)
expressing consternation that a few phrases of this speech were being used by the radical right to smear Vice President Gore and demanding that a full text of the speech be printed.
We are going to have to respond to the ad nauseum slander that is proceeding from the radical right's mouth.  This is just a taste of what's coming this election year.
      •  thanks for your efforts (none)
you've inspired me to try and put together a call/write-in campaign, if I can get more info than what I wrote above.

One important question is: who posed those questions to Al Gore, and what exactly were the questions.

Coming to think about it, if someone popped a question like "what do you think about the treatment of arabs following 9/11", the instant reaction to msot people would be to respond truthfully and honestly, and Gore seems to have said what he's been saying about it for years.

A line of defense one could possibly make from this is this: Gore's didn't make prepared remarks when he said what he said. he only responded to direct questions (transcript helps here) with what he considered to be honest truths. What do you think about this line?

        thanks.
