  •  it's not your post, specifically (none)
The tone around this whole thing is sounding very much Christian God vs. Allah.

I don't know. Maybe it's worse than having P&O in charge. But it strikes me that few here are reflecting that the type of people involved with Ports World are unlikely to be friends of al Qaeda.

I figure there's gotta be one of 2 reasons for the administrations intransigence over this: the Carlysle Group has their mitts in the deal, or there's something spooky going on.

    •  If by "spooky" you mean (none)
It is a "planned event" designed by Rove, I'm kinda in that corner.  Nothing but nothing goes unplanned with this bunch.

What gets me is that port security, border security is woefully inadequate without any addition of a UAE security company.  The other thing I find strange is that NO AMERICAN company "bid" on the job.  Why?  And doesn't this strike you as a "business opportunity" deluxe if nothing else.  There are just too many questions here.

All the anti-Muslims will come out of the woodwork and that will be unfortunate.  I do not "agree" or espouse the religion and have my own set of difficulties with the manner that the Islamic leadership has addressed the terrorist element.  But that is nothing new or unique to the Islamic faith; i.e. KKK and Christianity walked hand in hand for years and KKK was very much terrorist.

      •  no, by "spooky" i mean (none)
there may be more to the deal than is unclassified information.

I agree with you that it should probably be a domestic company that has the contract, but even those may be infiltrated.
