  •  Why 5,000 security personnel? (4.00)
a Commander-in-Chief who, reportedly, needs 5,000 security personnel in India to keep him safe during his trip this week.

Interesting you should say that because I have been wondering how much greater level of security this numb nuts requires than his predecessors.  It seems that he requires many times as much security than did Clinton or #41.

Is that a measure of the times or how much he is despised?

And, to the original poster, thanks for speaking the truth, thanks for what you are doing, and be safe.

    •  Clinton (none)
At the Popes funeral I remember that Clinton was beloved(they boo-ed Bush) and just started a impromtu hand shaking line and walking through town stopping and greeting regular people.  I think Bush was shuffled out as fast as you could blink your eye.  Times were the same.  Security was much different even if you take into account the sitting president/ex-president thing.

        Makes me wonder something.

What would be the response if Al Qaida took out someone like Clinton on one of those overseas trips?

        I honestly don't know.  I don't even know what I would do.

        •  I'm torn. (none)
On  the one hand if they took out DUbya, we'd be rid of the Puppet Emperor--buy we'd be stuck with Cheney or HAstert.

And most likely a lot of people who were beginning to see the down side of BushCo would probably see him as a martyr...

Not Bush, not the sitting President, that would be beyond the pale for anyone in the world to do.  They would end up with the full force of this nation after them, it would be like the Taliban in late 2001.

Clinton though, you'd end up with a lot of people on the other side of the aisle with a lot of decisions to make.  Obviously you'd have the idiots that would cheer it.  You'd have a lot of OUR side of the aisle torn too..

But how can we send a decimated armed forces to capture smoke and ghosts, when they can't even extract themselves from their current fruitless mission?

            •  It's just that part of me (none)
would be very happy to view a state funeral for Bush. Preferably soon. I keep praying he'll forget to wear his helmet next time he does something dangerous like watching TV and eating pretzels (will someone please lock up the dogs this time?).
