I obviously prefer New Orleans to all others. Not only would it be an excellent host city, but the city could really use the revenue that a convention would bring in.

On to another point though. The Democratic Convention should NOT be held in a safe Democratic State next time around, NOR should it be held in a safe GOP state. That throws out San Antonio, Dallas, New York and Anaheim.
Holding it in a safe state for us gets us absolutely nothing. The news coverage is already positive there. There are no voters to impress there. They're already with us. We need to take our message into battleground and red leaning states (not solid red, but red leaning such as MO, NV, etc). Get the party, the convention, the platform in the newspapers and on local TV every day. Show up in the states, let our voters there meet Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic contenders who didn't win the nomination. That'll do us a lot more good than showing up in NYC, or Anaheim, where if those states aren't ours, we're losing anyway. It'll do us a hell of a lot more than San Antonio or Dallas, where if we have that state, we don't need to bother with a convention, it's in the bag.
