not get it. The reality is they talk so loud they decide what is "mainstream". Dean and Feingold are doing what all Democrats should be doing. Standing up and being counted. The repugs are not the problem. It is letting them decide what "mainstream" is. Those who are afraid to speak the truth because they think they would be considered not in the "mainstream" are the problem. It is not only the idea that matters. It is the public perception that one is standing up for one's values. That is why Paul Hackett came so close to winning the seat in congress. People are afraid. They want something or someone to believe in. The repugs may be guided by their selfishness and greed but they come across as people with "values". They are not afraid. It seems most of elected Democrats think that the repugs are so incompetent that people will just vote the right way. It does not work that way. We have to stand up and be counted. We have to shout our values to the world and let the chips fall where they may. If we did this we might be pleasantly surprised.
