  •  What I find most surprising (5+ / 0-)

are the numbers in Louisiana.  Look at that dive in the last month!  Apparently Bush watching videos does have an impact, as does celebrating the 6 month anniversary of when he screwed us over.

    •  not just the videos that we just saw (7+ / 0-)

but also recent White House opposition to the Baker bill. As the American Spectator (ouch, it hurts to cite that source, but, it's worth it) puts it:

One of the world's great cities is dying before our eyes, yet the Bush administration has actively fought against the very recovery proposal that is the most pro-free market, most pro-private enterprise, most taxpayer-friendly, most accountable disaster-relief legislation imaginable.

    •  It caught Bush unprepared (5+ / 0-)
I don't know how people in Louisiana and Mississippi can still support Bush at all, but I think the Republicans spun the aftermath of Katrina successfully enough to stop a freefall. You probably didn't really consider the video all that important, but I think it cut through all of the spin for people unfamiliar with how this administration really works. i.e. they caught on to what many of us have known for a long time.
