Perhaps if such women had to help somehow- whether it be by holding something, pushing a button, or whatnot, they wouldn't be able to deny their complicity. You've got it nailed that they see it as something done TO them. But, isn't that how they view most things? When you don't get to make any decisions, you don't own them.

I haven't shared this here before, but I'm one of those evil, slutty, horrible women ™ who's had an abortion.  Twice, years apart. And while the doctors did the actual procedures, it was me that made the choice. Me, not anyone else. I own that choice and given it all over again I'd make the same decisions.

I believe to this day I made the choice that protected life. Mine. And got me to where I could choose to have a wanted, loved, cared-for child in a stable, two-parent household.

    •  They are already helping by walking in the door. (2+ / 0-)

It's that simple.  To judge hypocritically is terrible, and hopefully they will experience the emotional turmoil that comes with that realization.

      •  So many steps. (8+ / 0-)

First, they made their appointments for the consultations.  Then they walked in the door.  Then they filled out paperwork.  Then they got their blood tests.  Then they went through "counseling".  Then they made their second appointments for the procedures.  Then they came back for the procedures.  Then they paid money for the procedures.  Then they got on the table.

There are nine separate steps each woman took to get an abortion.  Nine separate decisions to go forward.  Anyone who can't see their own complicity in one or all of these steps is a completely disconnected fool.

Unlike you, these women refuse to own the choice they made.
