Thanks.  My feelings about this are, whatever Fire Thunder's background and motivations may be, this issue has the potential for enough "buzz" to be self-sustaining, and the result would be a new Planned Parenthood clinic in a portion of the country where reproductive health services are rare, abortion services even rarer.  And on a native reservation, even.

Also, on a political level, the anti-choice anti-sex groups have a great focal point and rallying cry now, in South Dakota's bold move to attempt to ban abortion.  I think our side could use a similar focal point and rallying cry.  The feeling that we can do something both practical and sexy (and in this case, very practical) will spur more energy and activism.  And success begets more success.

So, I think the president for her service in providing this tantalizing possibility for us to get behind.  I hope she's genuinely a good person doing this from the best of motives.  I can't verify that, but I also don't think it's critical.  I can live with it if she isn't.

As kathrynt pointed out, the trive in general is certainly low on funds so even if the clinic specifically doesn't happen, I'm sure she will be able to put the money to good use.
