    "Madame Ombudsman,

Seems to me you can save yourself and the Washington Post much time and embarrassment if you pull the plug now on Ben Domenech, but, if you insist on ignoring his racial bigotry, you might at least look into his plagiarism while a college student writing a column for some student paper or other.

    Here’s the column: http://flathat.wm.edu/...

    Here’s the source, P.J. O’Rourke’s book “Modern Manners”: http://www.amazon.com/...

You will find that, unlike some cases of alleged plagiarism (of course, I’m assuming that’s still a dismissable offense at the Post), in which you can see how it could maybe, if you squinted just enough, moved the book away and cocked your head to one side, be a coincidence, this one is simple. He did it and the passages he lifted or only made a clumsy, passing attempt at modifying are telling in the extreme.

So, what are you going to do next, Madame Ombudsman? Uphold the integrity of the Post by passing this along to the appropriate management figures for a fast termination and an apology to us or write a column blaming “liberals” for attacking young Benjamin and explaining why he’s needed at the paper’s Web site?"
