  •  So good, (7+ / 0-)

but would differ on one point. Not love and hate, rather love and fear (signal Yoda)

Bushie's bedfellows know this all too well.

      Love and Indifference.

Complete and endless emotion versus the total lack of it.

      •  If you think that this administration (8+ / 0-)

is indifferent then you should really take a closer look at what they are doing.  I would give my right arm for "indifference" at this point, but these guys are putting their energy towards to destroy everything FDR's legacy and the politics of a benevolent government are about.

Of late I have had this mental image of a gang of people beating the hell out of a couple other people for no reason at all while another group just stands there watching not saying a word.

Playing the part of the "beaten" - The American people.  Playing the part of the thuggish aggressors - the Conservative movement.  Playing the part of the witnesses not lifting a finger to stop the beating - Democrats, Religious leaders, Leading Educators, Doctors etc. etc. etc.  Then there is another group and that is us.  At first there were only a few of us looking out the window.  At first there were only a few of us that understood that the beating was totally unjust.

I feel like we have all been hanging out of the windows of the surrounding buildings screaming "Hey wait STOP those people!  They're beating those people senseless!!!  Help them!!!  Do SOMETHING!  ANYTHING!"  For some reason we can't get to the front lines to do it ourselves no matter how hard we try.  It is like one of those frustrating dreams where you get near something, but can't seem to touch it to change it.

Some people have made it down to the fight and have gotten into the brawl to try to stop it, but they have been pummeled too.  All the while the "in" crowd watching quietly - perhaps in horror but still stonefaced - who should have jumped in at the first sign of trouble have "kept their powder dry" or whatever they call it.  For what?

Luckily, there are more people screaming out their windows, but screaming doesn't distract the attackers. It only motivates them to work faster and more efficiently towards their goal of killing our country and the life its people has known.

I think we need to send some people down to that alley who really know how to put it on the line and take these destructive criminals down.  '06 is the chance to get some people down there who aren't afraid to get dirty - people who understand that whatever risk is involved in jumping in is far less dangerous than the risk of not getting involved.

Because this isn't abuse by neglect or indifference.  It is an all out assault with every bit of passion behind it that we lack in our fight against it.  It is time to rid our party of the Super Heroes of the V-Chip legislation Hall of Fame and find some people who will offer, push and enact legislation that really helps people and protects them from these aggressors.
