It pains me to see that RF only got 2/43 of the rest of the caucus to join him on censure and that it's becoming increasingly apparent that he's not finding other takers.  It also pains me to see that Conyers' impeachment and censure resolutions have gotten so little traction in the House.

I understand the arguments against attempting impeachment.  I don't understand any arguments against attempting censure.  Brazenly violating FISA is far from the worst thing that W has done, but it is the only criminal statute that he has openly admitted to breaching.  If he can't be held accountable for this conduct, when will he ever be held accountable?

It's amazing to see how much W and his ilk have accomplished politically relative to their electoral support.  He, um, lost the 2000 election, and the Dems held a plurality in the Senate in his first 2 years.  Assuming that the reported returns were accurate, he still got just a bare majority in 2004.  He's spent the last 5 years, however, governing as though he had FDR/LBJ-style majorities.

There's a party chair who is always willing to fight.  There's a Senate Leader who is usually willing to fight.  There's a House Leader who's occasinally willing to fight.  There are cacuses in both houses that still have a long way to go.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I see things that never were and ask why not?
