  •  Kaloogian (8+ / 0-)

    is blaming his webmaster.

The question now is whether he actually has a picture of a pleasant street scene in Baghdad that could make his excuse at least semi-plausible.

now if they can find out if Kaloogian's crew actually did have a lay over in Istanbul.

And I thought Republicans didn't play the blame game.

Lastly, speaking of lying GOP'ers George is propagandizing at Freedom House in DC.

Eleanor Roosevelt must be spinning in her grave.

      •  The Ataturk International Airport (0+ / 0-)

is located nearby, so it's at least possible.

the question isn't whether he had a layover. It's whether he had a layover long enough to get off the plane, leave the airport, do some shopping on a sunny afternoon in the suburbs, and return to the airport. Who does that, unless you're talking a layover of several days? I've had layovers plenty of times (I had 300k in frequent flyer miles at one point). I have yet to get off the plane, leave the airport, etc., because a) airports already have everything you could possibly want; b) that would mean having to go through security again, and possibly missing my flight; and c) flying itself is so freaking tiresome, who really wants to get in a cab when you could just hang out and read a trashy novel until your plane is ready? It's usually a few hrs, tops.

And yes, it's possible that they only have one flight out to Baghdad a day, so his layover could have been extensive. But that's why so many ppl choose to fly into Kuwait, etc. and drive in. It just sounds fishy to me.

The photo Faruk took and the photo Kallogian used have to be months, if not weeks or days, between each other. Faruk's are definitely after May 2005, while the Kallogian photo was taken on MAF's tour in July of that year.

Also, I recall that the only civilian flights into Baghdad International came in from Jordan and I believe Kuwait. Are commerical flights allowed from another locations? If they aren't, why was he and his Tour for "Truth" doing in Turkey in July 2005?

    •  He can run, but he can't hide. (6+ / 0-)

He wrote something specifically for a PICTURE pointing out how wonderful Iraq was.  If he posts another picture how do we know HE took it? On the "truth tour?"  And how is it that pictures were sent to the webmaster with NO explaination?  No title on the picture? show me the origianl file with the title, bet it doesn't say turkey.

    •  Isn't that how we all handle our pictures? (8+ / 0-)

You go on vacation to, say, the Jersey Shore.  You look through your pictures when you get home, and you find, say, a picture of a giraffe.  You don't remember seeing any giraffes, but what the heck, you just make up a story about a giraffe, and you show it to all  your friends.  "Look!  We saw a giraffe!  There's an influx of giraffes!  They're eating all the caramel corn!".

      Good grief.
