I've been following pic-gate today, and was at Kool-aidians website not more than 15-20 minutes ago, and the pic was STILL THERE.  It took about 5 full minutes for the page to load, so I'm sure it is getting hammered by lots of people.  The timing of the TPM Muckraker story is 1:06PM EST.  This guy isn't going to take the pic down unless we can get this story out to the public.  Keep up the cacophany!!!!!

Honesty had been the single trait most closely associated with Bush, but in the current survey "incompetent" is the descriptor used most frequently.

Oh yeah, and I had a question.  I'm still a bit of a newbie, so how do you screen capture something on the internet??  I wanted to screen capture the site with a time stamp, and didn't know how.  Help!!

      •  without special tools you can't (0+ / 0-)

screen cap it with a time stamp. To just screencap something, press prtscrn when you see what you want and then open your image editor and do a paste from clipboard. That's for a windows machine. It's easier with tools, but everyone should screencap everything these days. The media and candidates are changing stuff all the time.  It's important to get a record.

I totally agree.  The memory hole gets bigger every day.  It's kind of like print media - the lie gets published front page, and the retraction gets buried.  Result - the lie becomes the "truth".

    •  It's down now. (0+ / 0-)

It took some time to load, but the photo's gone. The rest of the "Truth Tour" page is just as it was. There is a little red x where the "Baghdad" photo had been and the caption is still there.

      •  New Image with Apology now on the site (0+ / 0-)

It's taking forever to load, so here's the new text:

<div class="blockquote">We originally posted a photograph not of Baghdad, Iraq but from Istanbul, Turkey where our delegation traveled on the way home to the United States. We apologize for this mistake. We have corrected it with a photograph we took from Baghdad. We took this photo of downtown Baghdad while we were in Iraq.  Iraq (including Baghdad) is much more calm and stable than what many people believe it to be.  But, each day the news media finds any violence occurring in the country and screams and shouts about it - in part because many journalists are opposed to the U.S. effort to fight terrorism.</div>

The picture is of a bunch of buildings obscured by trees that looks like it was taken from the top floor of another tall building, looking down.  It probably is Iraq, but you can't see any details.  It looks the way any group of buildings looks from high up.
