baseless. Show me how often Reid is attacked. He's friggin pro life. Nelson?

The major complaint with Joe is not his positions, other than Iraq. It's his appearences on shows like "Hannitty and the other guy" and his constant bashing of the party.

swift boating, which is sometimes unfortunately abused and redefined as a term for just about anything, was originally the idea of using smear campaigns attacking the opposition by questioning their credibility and patriotism.

In this case, replace patriotism with loyality and you get the swift boat type attacks on joe from dkos.

I don't always walk the party line either. I have even found myself in agreement with Bush on an issue or two. On dkos, that is unheard of and not acceptable under any circumstances. In fact, when it happens, people are encouraged to say silent here.

Your telling me that because Joe is able to get on one of the highest rated cable news shows I should be outraged? That is more access than most Dems get these days in the media, he would be a fool NOT to take it. Am I supposed to be upset that Joe is frustrated with the Dem party and actually says it out loud?

Why? I am frustrated with the Dems too, and I have no problem saying it out loud to wingers or my Dem friends. Frustration with Washington leaders is something I usually find myself agreeing upon with both Dems and Republicans alike, but support for Joe is usually the one thing both my Dem friends and Republican friends can usually find as common ground.

Joe has a solid progressive record on most issues that those of us on dKos would favor, but his support for Bush's war is not an insignificant matter, for at least 2 major reasons:

        1. It demonstrates his bad judgement going back to the first Gulf War in 91 when he disagreed with Bush's old man and said we'd made a mistake not going into Baghdad.  He later championed the Iraq Regime Change Resolution in 98.  By the time 911 happened Joe had as big a hard-on for Saddam as W and any of the worst neocons who got us into this mess.
        1. This catastrophic mistake has destroyed our ability to pursue traditional Democratic Party objectives like education and health care for years to come.

Joe didn't have a minor disagreement with the Party.  He lead us down the other Party's path to devastating results.

Now if that's not enough for even the most moderate Democrat to throw Joe under the bus I don't know what is.

Lamont's the whole package.  That's why we should support him here on dKos.

Damn I'm sick of this bs. Every single day people disagree on this blog. They make their arguments and let the chips fall.

And as far as Joe on FOX, it isn't a matter of being on FOX, it's a matter of agreeing with Hannitty when he accuses us of not being serious in the WoT. Or defending torture.

I'm on the "evil" side of the illegal alien issue here, and for my troubles of stating it I ended up with a reinforced TU status.
