and he is more conservative than Joe.

    The irony is too rich.

    What gives?

I'm not a huge Joe fan, but when I was in CT, I appreciated his strong pro-ANWR stand, his support for Utah Wilderness (I spent an hour with a staffer), and, yes, his efforts to protect children from filth.

    So now he is disposable?

You might want to know that, when the good Senators office is contacted and told that a voter could accept the differences regarding the war if the good Senator would just stop appearing on Fox News and undercutting other Democratic candidates, the voter hears back silence.  Lieberman has gone out of his way to make himself toxic.  His current actions negate many of the positive stands he has taken in the past, even the recent past.

I was amused to hear that Lieberman's campaign was gearing up for a massive TV ad campaign to trumpet his successes and reasons for reelecting him.  I don't know what they'll say.  On the one hand, he can claim  successes in being Bush's bitch in voting for certain bills, which haven't worked out as planned.  Or, he can claim to have been punked by supporting other efforts which Bush's administration quietly gutted.  Either way, it will show him to be totally ineffectual in advancing the interests of the citizens of Connecticut.
