  •  Suggested reading list to prep newbies for PNAC (5+ / 0-)

Back in the early part of the run up to war...three articles zinged my interest.  Ever after, I used them as manditory introductory reading for those I introduced to PNAC

The first,The President's REAL Goal In Iraq, an interview of Robert Kagan by Jay Bookman, at that time associate editor of the Atlanta Journal Constitution, is the best off all possible introductions to the whole mess. (scroll down to the third item)

The second piece of preliminary manditory reading is the 1997 white paper that Wurmser, Feith, and Perle wrote for Bebe Netenyahu A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm.

The third introductory piece is impossible to find online any longer though there are references to it.  Titled Saddam Must Go, and written in 1997 by Robert Kagan and William Kristol for the Weekly Standard, it states the objective of the current Department of Defense clearly definitively, howbeit in short form.

The time line of these articles points out in bold relief to those new to PNAC that the Iraq war was planned long before the 2001.  No tinfoil hattery about it!
