So how do we get her to believe otherwise?

Oh, Ptolemy, she's a lost cause on the political front.  If affirmative action comes up, she self-righteously declares that she doesn't like it because it prevents "true equality" for everyone.  If you reply that she must therefore support civil unions, she would angrily declare that homosexuality is a sin.  If you reply that our Constitution guarantees a separation of church and state, which ought to preclude the automatic codification of Christian morality into law, she would angrily declare that the Christian fathers of our country never intended for us to ignore the laws of Scripture.  If you point out that Thomas Payne and Ben Franklin were most likely atheists and that Jefferson and Washington were deists, she would rail about the liberal media.

Of course, she would single out the ClenisTM as the root cause of all our problems.

She is always correct and deeply resentful of any fact that might show otherwise.

Tell her that Bush's faith-based initiatives will allow witches to run drug rehab programs.

It doesn't always convert the listener, but it's never failed to get their attention.

Some might say that this is unfairly using witches for political gain, so if you are a witch or feel uncomfortable with witches being used in this way ... substitute Jew.  I don't mind and it actually works almost as well.
