What concerns me is that a real attack may take place before or during the election, leveraging enough support for W to win.  Given the rabid ideology of the far right, it isn't inconceivable that such an attack could be orchestrated from the inside.  War is, after all, an extension of politics.

For that matter, I'm not sure how such things work, but it seems to me it could happen after the election and lead Bush to invoke martial law, effectively nullifying a Kerry victory.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we should ignore this possibility.
