Is anyone worried about very aggressive GOTV efforts backfiring on us? If an undecided voter gets 50 calls this weekend from Kerry supporters, they might be so annoyed as to stay home or even (shudder) vote for W.
I can't imagine that there's coordination between the various groups making calls in swing states, to ensure that each undecided voter gets called only once...

    I have just gotten off the phone with my THIRD registered Republican, very much wondering why on earth I'm spending my minutes to call and GOTV for the wrong team.
    I have MAJOR questions about this. The scripts are terrible, the list does not seem to have been vetted very well, and the people I'm getting through to are PISSED.
    I think I may stop, a quarter of the way through my list, because I'm feeling like I'm doing more harm than good. I hate to sound like JamesB3, but I can see this backfiring in a big way.

      ...and I certainly understand your frustration.
      Did you know you can contact the GOTV people at this email address? They may shed some light on your experience.
      And PLEASE don't let this poor experience stop you. There are other posts here and elsewhere that tell of a happier experience with the lists. And even if this particular way didn't work out for you, you can also volunteer at Kerry-Edwards.
      But most importantly THANK YOU for your efforts. It's people like you who will bring victory home on November 2.

  In this particular case, PartyforAmerica has an e-mail link for voters at the bottom of the page if they're getting deluged with calls.
  For voters: Are you getting too many calls?
  We are careful to contact each voter at most once - but other groups are also calling voters. Please click here to tell us if you are being called too often - and be as specific as you can (your phone number and when did you receive the call). We only want to help you vote - we don't want to annoy you!
  I live in blue California and except for a few pre-recorded calls for propositions, the phone has been strangely silent for an election season.
