Otherwise he can no longer be chair of the judicial committee, and they could fill it with someone much, much worse. He's more useful to us as a Republican.

  Specter isn't any good to us. He made one comment about Roe v. Wade and now everyone of us is saying he's our savior. He's still a Republican, just not as wingnutty as Santorum, DeMint, Martinez, or Coburn. He's not a moderate Republican really. He just happens to be pro-choice - when it's convenient.
