I work in an old parochial school building (none / 0)

that's now home to a bunch of private, non-profit social service agencies. You'd think that it would be a hotbed of subversiveness, but every day i walk past a car that proclaims "Choose Life. Your mom did!"

  But I saw the stupidest sign a few months ago...I was on my way back to school in Iowa from a long weekend in Minnesota, and I was almost back at campus when I saw a Knights of Columbus hall/building/whatever they call their meeting places...it said: "Thank God Your Mother Was Pro-Life.""...now, my mother is not "pro-life"...(which is a a term I can't stand to begin with...because it implies that the rest of us, who want safe and legal abortions to be available are anti-life or pro-death or something stupid like that...) my mother is pro-choice...and so is her mother...it's a ridiculous sign...because it assumes that anyone who is pro-choice doesn't want to have children and if they ever get pregnant they will automatically have an abortion...

      That's always been a favorite. It' never been widespread, probably because it provokes thought. But I dare say it's entirely true.

      Since the priest sex abuse scandal broke a few years ago, I've also seen it as "If altar boys could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament."

      I saw one of those (looked hand-made though) on a car, and I just wanted to hop out at a stoplight and shake his hand/give her a hug, but we were on a high traffic road and they turned onto another road before I could even wave.

    They tested this on Mythbusters and found that sugar doesn't really do that much damage. The only thing that really messed up the engine was bleach.
